SYDNEY GRAMMAR SCHOOL
Headmaster: Dr J.T. Vallance
Sydney Grammar School is an independent school for boys located in Sydney, Australia. Founded by an Act of Parliament in 1854 it was officially opened in 1857, although its origins go back as far as 1825. The secondary school (7-12) is located on the original site in College Street.
The academic curriculum is organized around the ideals of a liberal education. The subjects we teach are broadly pre-vocational, and throughout a boy's life at Grammar, we insist that he pursue a range of academic studies.
What sets Grammar apart is the high quality of its teaching staff, and its focus on a careful, balanced preparation for university study.
All Scholarships candidates must sit for the ACER Scholarship Exam.
There are two preparatory schools (K-6): one in the Eastern suburbs at Edgecliff and one in the Northern suburbs at St. Ives.
